Hollywood gave us some unbelievable action packed movies this year. How do I know Hollywood gave us unbelievable action movies? Simple, I’m normally uninterested by the silver screen action movies. The action movies that were released this year more often than not left me begging for more.
January
Death Race 2 was hands down the best action movie released during the month of January. This movie gave us the underdog, corruption and violent tendencies. Death Race 2 was not stop action from start to finish. Of course Luke Goss was a nice touch too.
February
Drive Angry starring Nicholas cage was Februaries action thriller that kept us glued to the seat. The movie was a great step out for Nicholas cage to escape from his stint of fantasy movies he had recently acted in. It’s was great seeing Cage back into the roles that he belongs in.
March
Limitless would have to be the best action movie out during the month of March. This movie wasn’t completely filled with action, though it had enough to keep us going. Honestly, the plot line, let’s just say it was interesting, I only wonder what could be done with our entire brain.

April
The Fast 5 was hands down the best movie in March. I might be slightly biased in this choice as not only do I wait patiently for each new Fast and the Furious movie, I also wait patiently for each new Vin Diesel movie. Out of all of the Fast and the Furious movies, this one had to be the best.
May
For the month of May Hollywood gave us 2 movie choices, The Priest and Pirates of the Caribbean. I have to pick the priest by mere default as there just wasn’t a whole lot of competition there. Many Pirate fans would beg to differ, though in my book I’m going to pick vamps over drunken pirates any day of the week.
June
In June Hollywood stepped back from typical action and went with fantasy/ comic book action. Out of the movies released I would have no other choice than to choose the Green Lantern. This movie was in high gear from start to finish with an all-star cast.
July
Sticking with comic book genius, Hollywood came back in July and gave of the next Transformers movie. I didn’t really think they’d be able to top their last two transformers movies though I was willingly corrected. Transformers 3 gave us action packed battle scenes that will stand out as some of the best.
August
Columbiana was an excellent action packed assassin movie. It’s actually been awhile since we’ve had a great assassin movie so this movie came long overdue. The female assassin was a great addition, especially the rawness of emotion as she set out to take her vengeance.

September
Machine Gun Preacher was an emotion packed action movie that stood above the rest. This movie was based on a true story. It showed a man who fought fire with fire for the greater good.
October
In October Immortals was released becoming the greatest action movie of the month. It gave us epic battle scene that will last in our memories for years to come. This movie’s plot line was built around rage and vengeance a combination that only the best action movies have.
December
Though I haven’t viewed this movie yet and it appears to be the only action movie worth seeing this month, I am confident in choosing Mission Impossible 4. I usually grow weary in repetitive movies however at times Hollywood can pull it off and Mission Impossible movies seem to be in those times. With any luck I’ll be on my way to check out the newest Mission Impossible tomorrow night.
That wraps of the best action movies of 2011. I will cover the Best drama movies of 2011 next week so make sure that you check back here.
