Dexter stays for two more seasons containing 12 episodes each. Showtime execs have been hinting that the next two seasons will likely be the end of Dexter, though they failed to give a concrete answer of no more Dexter. All I can say is, Please don’t take my Dexter away.

I watch very limited TV, mainly due to a combination of a lack of interest and a lack of time. Dexter is one of a handful of shows that I just can’t get enough of. I really like that little blood guy and I like him equally whether he’s analyzing blood or creating and cleaning up pools of blood. I know when he’s creating his own blood, it’s likely due to his own horrid and tortures crime. I even realize that he can’t help himself he will always need to take the life of others.
You have to at least give him props on his selection. He has stopped himself several times simply because his current target didn’t deserve to die, honestly how many serial killers stop to think about that? Only one and that’s Dexter and only because of his strong dedication to following his code, the famous Dexter code of ethics.
The other thing that is gnawing at me is that there must be an ending if the show is to be gone forever. How many ways can that end? Dexter’s sudden death, his own logical guilt comes crushing down and he takes himself out because he now see’s that he deserves it under his own code or his secret somehow becomes public knowledge. I guess for me he’s just going to have to be killed by some accidental coincidence. I can’t actually see him killing himself, he’s too logical, calculated and strong for that ending. I literally couldn’t deal with him being arrested for his crimes, I know that’s where serial killers usually go, and the problem is that Dexter has won me over, I was actually rather nervous during the Bay Harbor Butcher episodes, simply because I was already cheering for him to remain free so that he could kill again.
