I am breaking a promise to myself.
How am I breaking a promise to myself? Simple, I promised myself awhile back that I wouldn't contribute another single written word to Lindsay Lohan. This wasn't because I have anything against her, in fact I thought she was great and I have enjoyed many of her movies, I especially enjoyed her role in Georgia Rule. The reason I promised myself not to write about her is really two reasons; one, I really believe that she gets enough coverage as it is and two I just didn't find her continuous court hearings not to be all that interesting.
Why am I breaking a promise to myself? Because someone needs to acknowledge a few damaging key points within her life.
Lindsay Lohan was a child star who actually began modeling at age three followed by some commercial spots. She then went on to be cast into Another World in 1996 and had her movie debut was in 1998 as a twin sister in the Parent Trap. As you can see, her life was demanding as the lives of child stars often are.
Unfortunately, her struggles went beyond Hollywood demands.
Lindsay's mother, Dina Lohan isn't in line to win any Mommy of the year awards. This woman has spent her mothering years living a Hollywood lifestyle off the accomplishments, struggles and tears of her daughter. In fact, as I write this she's pushing her new book Selling Lilo Down the River. Apparently the book tells every dark secret of Lindsay Lohan, all I can say is that uncovering and exposing dark secrets is the job of the paparazzi and not the actions that would be expected by a mother.
Lindsay's father, Michael Lohan was divorced from Dina after allegations of physical abuse. However those allegations may have been correct as just recently he was hauled into jail on domestic violence charges towards his girlfriend. After his release he was arrested again; the police have commented that drug and alcohol may have been involved in his last arrest. Obviously it goes to say that Michael may have lacked a few vital parenting skills.
Hopefully Lindsay Lohan will find a way to cut ties with her childish parents and hold her head up high again, or maybe for the first time.
