Not quite what I expected

I love the Stephanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich so when the movie trailer One for the Money came out I began my patient wait. I absolutely knew that it was going to be a hit. Little did I know that I would soon be disappointed.
First off, I’m not sure that the book was really even read, at least not by the people responsible for casting. After all they cast Daniel Sunjata as Ranger, a main character. He isn’t necessarily a bad Ranger, he just isn’t the Ranger that we have all visualized all of these years. The rest of the cast, minus a few key characters gets the same reaction from me.
Beyond the not so likely cast, there are the facts within the story. Now many points of the story are the same however many points have been changed. Now I know that the movie is never identical to the book, though usually it’s a little more similar than is the case with One for the Money.
All in all, if you’re a Janet Evanovich fan I’d say go see it, if anything else it’ll give you the chance to see your favorite bounty hunter scenes come to life, just be warned that the movie has nothing on the book and the characters that you have already envisioned won’t quite be the same. On the other hand, for anyone who hasn’t read any of the books One for the money might be very enjoyable. Either way, the movie is entertaining and can certainly provide a level of enjoyment whether you know how sexy Ranger is supposed to be or not.
